Firefox 3 beta 4 has just been released (which means there's a Firefox 3 beta 4 Portable, by PortableApps.com out as well)... which is great, because Firefox is becoming better (and faster) with every release. Unfortunately it takes a while for addon/extension developers to update their extensions to support these new versions/beta's - luckily it's really easy to hack them to get them installed (though they don't always work) - some haven't been updated since Firefox 2.0.0.1!

Below is a list of the extensions I've used, which I've hacked to work with version "*". Yup, that's right, an asterisk... in otherwords any/every future version of Firefox... which admittedly probably isn't a good idea, but it will save me having to edit them each and every time I install a new beta. I would suggest NOT using my hacked versions of the extensions, and waiting for developers to release an updated version, but if you just can't wait, keep reading...

(You'll need to disable "secure update" checking - which I also advise you DON'T do - by going to "about:config" in the address bar, putting "extensions.checkUpdateSecurity" in the filter and setting it to "false". If "extensions.checkUpdateSecurity" doesn't exist, then right click in the main area below, select "New", select "boolean" and type/paste that in, then select "false").

Here are the Firefox addons I'm currently using (that seem to work fine) in Firefox 3 beta 4:

Hope they help, don't blame me if you break something - I did warn you not to use them, or follow the other steps in this post... if on the other hand this post was helpful, Digg it, send money, or something :P
